CraftFormHow to Create Your First Form
Get from zero to a live, shareable form in under 5 minutes. Follow these 8 steps and you'll be collecting responses today.
Sign up or log in
Go to craftform.co and click "Get started free". You can sign up with Google in one click, or use your email and a password. No credit card required — you get full access to all features immediately.
Click "New Form" from the dashboard
After logging in you land on the dashboard which lists all your forms. In the top-right corner click the yellow "New Form" button. You can also press the keyboard shortcut N from the dashboard.
Choose a template or start from blank
A modal appears with a template gallery. Templates include Contact Form, Lead Gen, Job Application, Customer Feedback, NPS Survey, and more. Click any template to pre-fill your form with questions, or click "Start from blank" to build from scratch.
Add your first question
Inside the builder you'll see the form canvas on the left and settings panel on the right. Click the large "+" button (or the "Add block" button in the left sidebar) to insert a new question. A dropdown shows all available block types.
Choose a question type
CraftForm supports 15 question types: Short Answer, Long Answer, Multiple Choice, Checkboxes, Dropdown, Rating, Opinion Scale, NPS, Date, Time, File Upload, Email, Phone Number, Number, and a Statement block. Click the type you want and it's instantly added to your form.
Write your question text
Click directly on the question placeholder text in the canvas to edit it. Type your question. You can use the formatting toolbar for bold, italic, or to add links. Each block also has a "Description" field for adding sub-text or instructions below the question.
Preview your form
Click the eye icon in the top toolbar (or press P) to preview exactly how respondents will see your form. The preview opens in a side panel. You can toggle between desktop and mobile views. No actual responses are recorded in preview mode.
Publish your form
When you're happy with the form, click the "Publish" button in the top-right. Your form is now live. A share sheet appears with your unique form URL (e.g. craftform.co/f/your-form-name). Copy the link and share it anywhere — email, social media, QR code, or embed it on your website.
